Steel pans is an extensive collection of beautiful Steel Pan instruments. Sampled from a full set of 55 gallon oil drums built by Bertrand Parris of Parris Pans and played by the Glissando Steel Orchestra, this instrument sounds really incredible and will be an essential addition to your collection.

Twelve, individual steel pans have been methodically recorded by our team at Livingston Studios. The stereo pair of Neumann U87’s captured over 1000 individual samples of varying dynamics. Each velocity-hit, on each group of pans, was done with extreme precision by session musician and seasoned steel pannist Sara Loewenthal. The result is a truly phenominal sounding instrument with beautiful soft attacks and gently swelling harmonics.

This instrument offers five individual presets so that you can craft and design the performance that you want. The ‘Steel Pans’ preset includes all 12 pans across your keyboard, then we have the ‘Six Bass’ which are low, bottom notes. The ‘Three Pan Cellos’ and ‘Double Tenors’ have beautifully colourful mid-notes and the ‘High C Tenor’ will allow for twinkling top lines.
